TORONTO—At Travel Management Canada, we work closely with our partner associations to engage their members, which helps us provide quality industry information and to forge connections with our readers and suppliers. By attending and participating in industry events, we’re able to keep our finger on the pulse of issues affecting Canada’s travel and corporate meetings management practitioners. It also helps us to provide leadership in these fields by sharing our expertise and supporting industry and association partners.

We’re therefore pleased to be attending and reporting on the GBTA Conference 2014 | Toronto, March 19-21, 2014, as listed in our events section. Travel Management Canada and PurchasingB2B editor Michael Power will also moderate a thought leadership panel session at the conference. The details of the panel session are as follows:

More and more, travel has become part of the procurement world with procurement professionals seeing travel spend folded into their responsibilities. But the travel world can be daunting for the new buyer, as it comes with its own unique set of priorities, strategies and language. This panel session will feature tips and best practices for those new to travel buying, with the discussion focusing on best practices for each level managing a corporation’s T&E spend. The panel will consist of buyers with different perspectives and varying degrees of experience in the travel procurement field. Issues to be investigated include dealing with TMCs, airline sourcing and hotel booking, duty of care and more.

Moderator: Michael Power, Editor, Travel Management Canada, PurchasingB2B

Panelists: 3-4 Travel Procurement Buyers

An editorial report on this session will appear in the March/April 2014 edition of Travel Management Canada.

If you or your organization has a topic in mind for thought leadership initiatives such as conference panel discussions, roundtables, and other projects, we invite you to contact editor Michael Power at mpower@bizinfogroup.ca.
