Beyond reduction: Greening the paper supply chain
Friday October 18 • 11:15am-12:15pm
SCMA Ontario Annual Conference, Eaton Chelsea, Toronto
Panel session description:
When talking about paper and sustainability, the first notion that often springs to mind is strategies to reduce paper usage. Certainly, “reduce, reuse and recycle” are well ingrained as the first steps that organizations can take when trying to minimize paper’s environmental footprint. But how do organizations move forward with sustainable paper initiatives once the “three Rs” are accomplished?
This panel discussion will focus on steps that organizations can take to ensure their paper supply chain is as sustainable as possible. The discussion will explore the various environmental attributes paper can have, the economic and social impacts of paper, as well as options and tools to implement and effectively communicate a sustainable paper procurement policy.
A featured editorial report on this session will appear in the November/December 2013 edition of PurchasingB2B.
