The Annual Conference of Alberta’s Supply Chain Management professionals will join with the National Buyer/Seller Forum this fall in Calgary, according to the Alberta Institute of the Purchasing Management Association of Canada (AIPMAC) and forum producer JuneWarren-Nickle’s Energy Group (JWN), a Glacier Media Company.
The two organizations have agreed to combine AIPMAC’s annual Supply Chain Management Conference with the National Buyer/Seller Forum, Canada’s pre-eminent gathering for energy buyers and sellers.
The deal is a significant win for both sides and will provide tremendous value for all key stakeholders, said the two organizations. For the National Buyer/Seller Forum (NBSF), it will bolster the presence of Supply Chain Management professionals at the forum. As the Alberta branch of Canada’s leading Supply Chain Management organization, AIPMAC has over 1,650 members in the province. Approximately 85 percent of those members work in the Canadian energy industry, while the rest are involved in sectors ranging from natural resources, manufacturing and construction to government and education.
“JWN is thrilled to partner with AIPMAC to bring together their annual Supply Chain Management Conference and the National Buyer/Seller Forum. This partnership will result in a bigger and better event for all stakeholders,” says Rob Pentney, president of JWN. “Attendees will have more speakers and sessions to choose from, more contacts to network with and more sponsors to learn about. Speakers will have a bigger audience to reach, and sponsors will have more opportunity to discuss their solutions It’s a win for everyone.”
AIPMAC noted that the joint event offers the organization and the SCMP designation a larger audience and network within the energy industry and the many connected industries that support it. Large and experienced suppliers will allow for more comprehensive supply chain programming where both buyers and suppliers can learn and discuss how to expand and improve key supply chains that feed Alberta’s growing industries.
“AIPMAC is very excited to be partnering with JuneWarren-Nickle’s Energy Group and Glacier Media. The deal provides huge reach into the markets where our members work, giving our organization and its members a greatly expanded voice. We also get instant access to more marketing, sales, and event production horsepower through JWN to keep growing the event and promoting the Supply Chain profession,” said Darren Caines, executive director of AIPMAC.
“The additional delegates and combined resources of both shows create a fantastic venue to elevate the supply chain conversation in Alberta,” continued Caines. “We’ll have buyers and their key suppliers working together to improve and expand Alberta supply chains. That means improved productivity and bottom lines for our companies and ultimately a more competitive economy for Alberta and Canada.”
The new combined event—expected to draw over 800 delegates—will take place in Calgary, Alberta at the BMO Centre on November 12-14. A new brand, program and registration details will be announced at a later date at www.nationalbuyerseller.com and www.aipmacconference.com.
